How are we planning our production?
We have defined production so far as: 'Convert raw materials in salable finished
products'. Salable not only in the sense of deliverwhat
the customer needs, but also when the
customer needs it. If the finished products are not available for the customer in time, we will loose
his sale. |
Our customer can sell more than we can produce and there is still no shortage in
the supply of the Raw Materials.
The answer to the question of how we should produce is:
- Make sure the production on the constraint will never stop, use the constraint to its full extent
- Make sure you produce in the sequence as needed by your customer
Let's make you the LBS Manager of Factory 'Building Blocks PTY' and suppose you get an order load for your factory that
starts from week 10 on Monday morning 8 o'clock and looks as follows:
